We went to the one in Florida already but the rest wanted to come here so we tagged along.

Los Angeles Week 4 Part 1

Back with another USA travelogue post!

Been rather lazy and kept procrastinating :/

But... I still want to record everything down!

Anyways, this is my second time writing this post!

Gonna write it with no date references (hope I get them right).

My first post got overwritten by me accidentally :(

For this Los Angeles Week 4, I'm gonna break it up into 2 parts!

Cause we didn't travel out of LA that week.

Part 1 will be mainly Santa Monica related.

Part 2 will be mainly Hollywood related.

Santa Monica is a city on it's own (I think) but Hollywood is only a district?

Initially I had no idea how I should label the post...

But since they are all inside LA, I shall just do it as a full LA week post!

Los Angeles Week 3

I'M BACK WITH ANOTHER POST!

Really haven't been able to find the time to blog :(

This was drafted weeks ago. I merely added the summary photo before posting today.

Anyways this is gonna be a long Sunday to Sunday blog post!

Back in LA on a Saturday, spent Sunday resting (or I think there was an upcoming quiz).

Monday to Thursday spent in school.

Friday went to a theme park (six flags) in LA.

Saturday was shopping day.

Sunday was beach day cause the rest went to sky dive!

I wanted to sky dive but my dad threatened me -.-

He was like "if you go without my permission, i will ban you from traveling in the future". Boo.

Anyway, here are the details of the week!

P.S All my LA Week photos are mostly of a lower quality cause most were taken using my S2 then.

Los Angeles Week 2

I'm back with another USA post.

It has been more than a year since I came back and I am still not done with my travelogues.

P.S Lots of photos ahead!

It's the same writing style as my previous travelogues.

But I didn't combine photos for this post.

Combining photos takes up a lot of time! Reason why I procrastinate.

Los Angeles Week 1

It's the first week of school!

For Los Angeles posts, I will do weekly (Monday-Thursday) posts instead of daily.

Cause... We have school from Monday to Thursday. So there isn't much we can do!

Monday - 25 June 2012

First day of school!

Yes! My first time going to UCLA compound!

This is how we usually walk to school from our apartment :)

Going to school is easy cause it is a downslope.

So going home is an upslope!

Anyways it is about a 15mins brisk walk to school :)

Our first meal in school, in Ackerman Building - Taco Bell

Each wrap only costs USD0.99 ;)

Having a walk around school cause we are lost and we are early lols.

Love their clean green grasses!

Btw, it's summer studies so school was rather empty.

Our first class! So cool right? They have chalk boards!

We didn't get to use it though. Everything was on PowerPoint slides :(

Btw this mod is Social Networks, SOCIOL 111.

After class is tour time! That's Powell library!

It's where we always print our stuffs :)

I really miss that place! Why can't SG schools look as pretty as theirs?!

Then it was grocery shopping time in Ralph's!

It's like our fav shopping place? We are always there one lols.

It's dinner time!

Our first day of school "party" at our apartment! :)

Also the first party we have at our apartment, many more to come!

Cooked spaghetti, broccoli and eggs.

The two chickens were bought from Ralph's!

They have ready cooked food ;)

Our apartment is like forever the party place. Hahas.

Ours is a two room apartment while others have a one room apartment.

So we always open our place for parties since it is the most spacious :)

Tuesday - 26 June 2012

Started off the day with yummy breakfast made by the guys - Wei Da and Jasper!

I think it was Jasper's first time making pancakes and he mastered he!

Pro master chef teacher and pro student hehex.

Yummy yummy breakfast! :) Lucky us!

Wei Da is our master chef in our house together with Amelia :)

Jasper is our human alarm! Luckily got him else we forever overslept one!

I got help too okay! I help jasper charge his phone at night lols!

(That's after the Vegas trip cause he lost his charger there so we share charger)

P.S I don't like hotcakes in McDonald's one.

But I really liked the pancakes they made! :)

Think it's cause it wasn't too milky/buttery!

Our second class - Communicating Diversity in Organizations, COMM ST 142

This class is like NTU all over again!

Other than Singaporeans, it's China Chinese, like less than 5 non-Chinese.

Chinese food! Not cheap think around USD7 each!

But not bad ;) Finally having some decent chinese food.

Frozen food that sister recommended - Hungry-Man :)

We always stock this up just incase we are lazy to cook.

It's only about USD3 each.

In the bookstore to buy our textbook!

At the end of the trip I didn't sell the book cause I thought it was not bad a read.

Dinner that day was Thai food!

Wei da bought it back for us :)

Love the Pad Thai the most!

Our little messy but comfy house :)

That day was my turn to be stuck at that corner.

The wifi in the house was horrible.

So we needed a MacBook to connect to LAN Internet and set up hotspot.

Luckily I brought LAN cable hehe. 

But every time it's either me, jasper or wei da who is stuck there lols. 

Take turns. No choice! =P

Thursday - 28 June 2012

Time Joy and I made breakfast together! Baked pizza bread :)

But when it was cold, it was no longer nice :(

Another afternoon trip to Ralph's that day!

Told you it was like our favorite shopping place already.

When we went home we saw some set up going on.

After that then we knew it was Spiderman meet and greet session!! :(

And that's what we did on all 4 days!

Usually when it's school days, nothing much happen.

So I can combine afew days posts together as mentioned earlier.

But next day is a Friday which means it's weekend!

Time for our first road trip!!

Anyways, I strongly believe that there should be 4 days work week instead of 5! =P

I enjoyed myself so much in USA! It was so chill and stress free cause we only study 4 days a week!

Los Angeles Day 2

Our first fast food in LA! First time eating at In-N-Out too :)

Here we also made new friends. No photos though. We just ate.

But you will see them in our Las Vegas road trip photos!

Shopping in Walmart after we were done eating! 

Took a bus here - first time taking a bus in Los Angeles. 

Two trolleys full of items! Bedsheets, blankets, pillows, hangers, pot, pan, utensils, etc!

Now our rooms have bedsheets! :) And Joy has her cozy lil corner.

We only have 2 beds in each room. Initially our plan was to have 3 ppl sleep on the bed together since it is wide enough. But you know the problem where it is always super awkward to sleep in the middle?

Sp one has to sleep on the ground. Joy offered to. But we said to take turns and she didn't want to.

And that corner became her cozy lil corner.

That's our supposedly dining table, which became our study table and was forever in a mess hahas.

Our dining area became the sofa area, we would all sit on the floor around the round table and eat!

Then we went out for dinner! Tried a korean food (Gushi Teriyaki & Korean BBQ) nearby and it was nice and serving was super large! As usual, the three of us would share food and we couldn't even finish the rice!

That's all for our day two in Los Angeles!

Los Angeles Day 1

Time to leave Disney World :( Must come back again! I miss this place so much!

Disney World has really good services if you stay with them (though pricier but a good experience).

One benefit would be having airline check-in right at your hotel and also transport to the airport!

Do Note: Only those with fixed airline seats (eg. American Airlines) can have their 

luggages checked-in at Disney hotels.

The airline I took to Los Angeles was American Airlines. Joy and Amelia took Southwest. 

We bought our tickets on different dates. So we were all on different flights. Our first solo flight!

The difference between Southwest and American Airlines would be the 2 free checkin baggages that Southwest offers and American Airlines don't. But after adding the baggages fees, the prices were comparable. So I took American Airlines because by the time I wanted to get the Southwest tickets, they got really expensive. But I'm glad I took American Airlines!

Reason being, American Airlines has fixed seating so I could checkin my luggages at Disney.

Joy and Amelia had to bring the luggages to the airport and check in there. 

So I sort of travelled light with only one hand carry?

This was something Disney World did not tell us though. 

Even when I emailed them our flight details, they didn't tell me!

I had quite a bit of time at the airport cause my flight was later (Joy and Amelia's was earlier).

But we decided to leave Disney World together. So I just sat at the waiting area and blogged :)

Got a lil hungry and bought some food light there. Food in the airport is expensive though :(

Towards Miami! :) Happy girl with her window seat. I love window seats!

At Miami Airport. I almost got lost here. Had a mad rush. 

40+mins transit time and the airport was huge! I had to take sky train from one end to another!

The flight towards Los Angeles :)

So the whole flight from Orlando to Los Angeles I get to experience noon to night sceneries on plane!

At night already! Landing soon :) It was 8pm by the time I landed.

We reached different parts of the airport. 

So Joy and Amelia met up and made their way to our apartment first while I went later.

Took a cab to our Midvale apartment! The tenants just did some chemical wash to the carpets so we couldn't pull our luggages in. Luckily Jasper was there to help us carry our heavy luggages in!

We got a lil hungry so Jasper brought the three of us out to get some food :)

So Bella Pita was the first food we had in Los Angeles!

And on the way some guy suddenly came to talked to us and recommended us Fat Sals.

Didn't try it that night. But we did try it before we left LA :)

I wonder how I'm gonna write the rest of my travelogues cause I cannot count the dates properly since we did not stay in Los Angeles throughout. Almost every weekend we travelled to other places!

I shall think of a way =P And that was very much our first day in Los Angeles!
