[Show Review] Walking with Dinosaurs - The Live Experience

Tuesday, 3 September 2019

Walking with Dinosaurs - The Live Experience, based on the award-winning BBC Television Series, is back in Singapore. Thanks to Sliding Doors Entertainment and UnUsUal Entertainment, the world tour which started in the UK in July 2018 is currently in Singapore for a stopover from now till 8 September 2019! My big boy (my hubby who is a fan of dinos) and I caught their opening show on last Thursday and saw how the 18-life size dinosaurs, 9 different species, came to life and took over the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

A Day at USS with le Sisters - Universal Studios Student Season Pass!

Wednesday, 5 June 2013

The 3 of us got the Student Annual Pass!
Our temporary passes to enter USS before we get our actual "annual" pass :)
They call it the annual/season pass. Not really a real annual pass though.
Annual is supposed to be a year =P

From USS website:
6 Months unlimited entry for students now only at $88*!
For a limited time only, present your student pass and purchase a Universal Studios Singapore Student Season Pass for only $88. This gives you 6 months unlimited access to your favourite rides and shows, as well as exclusive dining and shopping offers, from now till the end of November.

*Terms & Conditions apply. Valid for purchase until 30 June 2013 for Students aged 13 years & up. Season Pass usage and benefits valid till 30 November 2013 only.

First thing that attract le sisters was the gift shop lols.

Random photos while walking!

Cylon! Was looking forward to all the rides that day!
Really needed some roller coasters to help de-stress!
Anyways. Sorry for all the bare face photos.
Didn't put a single bit of makeup that day, not even my brows or lips.
Only applied my DRx toner, Max-C, and sunscreen.

Photos with le sisters!
On the left is a photo with huibin a.k.a kate.
On the right is a photo with huiling a.k.a kayley.
Facebook happily recognized all our faces and tag as me!
Do we really look that alike?

Our faces after taking Battlestar Galactica Human and Cylon consecutively.
The queue for cylon was crazy in the afternoon!
Anyways after the parade (5.30pm) they stated that queues for human and cylon were only 5mins long.

The mad expensive bottle! But huibin wanted that so... she had to pay for it herself!
I paid for their tickets already okay! $264 gone in one swipe! Daddy sponsored $100 though hahas.

After drinking up, it was time for the mummies ride!
We took this twice consecutively till huiling felt queasy ><
It's her first time taking roller coaster rides.
The first time I came to USS, Human+Cylon was enough to make me queasy.
I was so scared then. But now it's like mehh. Hahas.

Anyways, back to the mummies ride.
BOTH MY PHOTOS WERE NICE!
But sadly we didn't buy cause sisters didn't look nice in them =P
Both photos I was looking at the camera, smiling with the cheese sign.
Huibin looked okay in both photos but she couldn't really catch the camera angle well.
Huiling closed her eyes for the first photo, for the second photo she was holding on to the handle lols.

Btw, if you want to take nice photos, sit on the 3rd or 4th row.
And the camera is on the right :) I've taken this ride 5 times in Singapore lols.

Hungry peeps need some food! We had corn dog and sat down to wait for the parade.
Btw, I don't find the corn dog nice and yet it is freaking $4! :(
Huibin says it's all thanks to me. Cause when she asked me to guess how much was it, I said $4.

The parade finally started!
And I was so pissed when all these people cut infront of us!
Especially a group of women/aunties who appeared out of nowhere!
They came from behind and stood infront of my sisters and I.
Then when they were told to stand behind the while line,
they tried to squeeze between my sisters and I just so they could stand in the first row!

Couldn't really take decent photos all thanks to those women/aunties.

Here I felt better, was less angry and became really happy.
Those aunties realize that they couldn't squeeze between my sisters and I,
so they squeeze in to stand beside me instead.
Then here came the penguins. PENGUINS I LOVE YOU!
Cause... look at the last photo. The penguin squirted water at them hahahas!
I saw the penguins squirt water before they reached my sis.
I went "Ah!" and it stopped right before it reached us. Lols.
Then I laughed a lil when they squirted those aunties before me.
I'm evil mehhs =P

More photos from the parade.
Here I think there were small dinos behind the trex and they squirt water too!
I think they squirted at those aunties again lols!
Remember they were squirted twice but I can't rmb what was the second one that squirted at them.

The conclusion that I came to was:
they squirt at people who stand infront of the white line!

Those guys are scary! They will purposely come close to you and give you a fierce face!
One of them spot a girl behind a bulletin board and went up to her to scare that.
That girl really screamed. So poor thing.

That's all for the parade!
Oh and I think those are the aunties who came into our way -.-
After the parade we decided to go and walk around and not take anymore rides.
Cause huiling was still feeling a lil queasy.

Brought them to the potion shop and we saw the penny machine!
My favorite in the states!
When I was in the states, when ever I saw one, I would make one.
And I will purposely keep shiny pennies for it.
Here they use fake pennies though. And they are a freaking $2 each!
If it is $1, I don't mind collecting. But $2, that's crazy!
It's only 51cents in the states.

Sis finds that puss in boots v cute.

All rides that we took, we always sat on the first row!
Huiling had two daring sisters who isn't afraid of roller coasters anymore.
So... she had to sit first row with us! =P

Hello Rockefeller! I would love to go back to NY to visit you!
The first time I came to USS, I have no idea what this building was.
After I've been to NY, I finally know...

Random streets which I've never been to.

Then we went to get our annual pass.
The queue in the morning was mad long.
So the lady there told us to go and take rides first then come back when we are leaving.
They open till the last man leaves USS =P

Do take note that you will have to take a photo for the pass.
So... I will highly recommend that, no matter what, just queue in the morning!
I felt that I look like a mess in the photo :(
It looks better than my UCLA card though =P

Pretty princess fiona headband!
All these cute things always attract me to them.

We left the park at around 6+pm :)

See all those people in the background?
That is the queue for the monorail!
It's madness!

We decided to take a bus out.
There was a long queue too.
But the queue moves rather quickly.
Then... here comes the traffic jam!
Next time I'm gonna walk out of sentosa -.-

Anyways that's all for these post!
Next, I want to go to the S.E.A. Aquarium! Anyone want to go with me? Hahas.
I haven't been to many places in Singapore :( I want to go to River Safari and Gardens by the Bay too!
Hmmm and there's Snow City (I've never been there before though it's been here for years).
Bottle Tree Park seems not bad a place too.
Maybe I should act tourist for a couple of days and go to all these places lols.

Btw, students who loves roller coaster rides, hurry and get the pass now =P
It's so worth it hahas. Just need to go there twice and it is worth the price already.
I'm going to go there whenever I'm free and take roller coasters to de-stress! :)

Chinese New Year 2013

Sunday, 21 April 2013

Happy Chinese New Year! Okays kidding. It’s long over.
I know right, I took a million years to do up this post -.-
Anyways here’s what I did for CNY Eve, Day 1, Day 2, Day 7, Day 15!
Day 3 was just relatives visiting my house, so no photos =P

♥♥♥

CNY Eve
Like what other families do, CNY Eve is when we have our steamboat.
Grandma always prepare lots of yummy food. One of our favorite would definitely be the braised (and smoked, I think) pig stomach. Grandma always washes it thoroughly and it has no stinky smell at all!

And as usual, it is also my standard Do-My-CNY-Nails Day. Did red hearts nails.
You can take a look at the tutorial here ;)

♥♥♥

CNY Day 1
Same as the past few years, CNY Day 1 is always the day where we will go to Loyang Tua Pek Kong in the morning, and my paternal relatives will visit us from evening till night. This year’s slightly different though. Day 1 became slack day cause of of 4 families, only 1 came. The rest all overseas, so they arranged to come on Day 3 instead.

Outfit of the Day
Top: Abercrombie
Shorts: Abercrombie
Cardigan: H&M

Photos at the temple :)

♥♥♥

CNY Day 2
CNY Day 2 is always the day for us to go gather at our maternal family’s place. Actually we have gathering every Sunday. Just saying that CNY Day 2 is a maternal family gathering day as well.

Makeup in the morning.
The crazy amount of makeup I use each time hahahas.
You can checkout my facial highlights tutorial here :)

Lou Hei at maternal family's place.
Before and after hahahas!

For those who don’t know, my maternal family owns an eatery biz!
They even got featured on ieatishootipost before!
It's on hungrygowhere too :) So whoever go there and eat, please help review ;)
So everytime we go to our maternal family's place, we always get to eat lots of yummy food!!! :)

I love their sweet and sour (or thai sweet chili) abalone!
I am super lucky that both sides of my family cooks really well.

Then we had a full maternal family portrait :)

Outfit of the Day
Dress: Bugis Junction
Belt: Forever21
Clutch Bag: Dorothy Perkins
Wedges: Steve Madden

When we reached home at night, we took our own family portraits too.
Need to find a nice new corner to take photo! Every year same place leh!
Anyways, sis and I were camwhoring after that lols.

♥♥♥

CNY Day 7
It’s everyone’s birthday! And the tradition was to Lou Hei.

So we did as well ;) Same as last year, we bought our Lou Hei from Sakae Sushi.

May everyone’s wishes come true!

♥♥♥

CNY Day 15
The last day of CNY. This time we didn’t have steam boat though.
Instead we have a few yummy dishes.
This is the only thing that is different this year! Hahas!

♥♥♥

That’s all I did during CNY hahahas! I think I’m old already :(
Now no longer get hyped up before/during CNY lols.
It’s like when you are young, you look forward to CNY cause you get to buy new clothes.
But now, I don’t need to wait for CNY and I am always shopping haha =P
Plus CNY is getting mundane, always the same each year.
Can something exciting/fun happen for the next CNY? :)

Genting 2D1N March Getaway Day 2 + FX Micropay! :)

Saturday, 13 April 2013

Feels like I'm living in the clouds! =P
Didn't sleep much at night! I think I slept only around 3am?
Sleepy max. Hahas.

A wide range of breakfast available there!

They cook fried kuay teow on the spot :)

And also cook eggs on the spot :)

Coffee, Tea, Water or Orange Juice?

The food we had :) Potato Wedges - my favorite =P
They had prata too. But the curry taste a lil different.

Took a bus to Ritz Carlton in KL :)

The main thing for this trip - FX Micropay launch!

Resorts World Genting launched a multi-currency pricing solution on its ‘iHoliday’ online reservation system, developed using FXmicropayTM, the Royal Bank of Scotland’s (RBS) innovative e-commerce foreign exchange management solution. Through RBS’s FXmicropay, Resorts World Genting will receive direct FX rates which are linked to the ‘iHoliday’ online reservation system, allowing customers to conduct instant multi-currency pricing and ultimately charging the same amount.

This makes Resorts World Genting the first resort in Malaysia to be offering such a service. At the launch were Mr Thomas Ng, Senior Vice President of eServices & Risk Management, Resorts World Genting and Andrew Sill, Country Executive of RBS Berhad together with Mr Chow Wei Heng, Vice President of National Marketing, Resorts World Genting. [Above details from Press Release]

Lots of yummy food at Ritz Carlton!

Bloggers had this opportunity to try out the system!

The online multi-currency pricing is now available at www.rwgenting.com :)
Under iHoliday booking for:
Resorts World Genting
Resorts World Kijal
Resorts World Langkawi

Everyone can now pay for their purchases online in any of these currencies:
Malaysian Ringgit (MYR)
US Dollar (USD)
Singapore Dollar (SGD)

Now it's so easy to book a hotel in Genting!
No longer need to worry about exchange rate fluctuating ;)

Shopping at Pavilion.
But anyways that shopping mall only has higher end brands.
Dorothy Perkins, Topshop, Espirit, M.A.C, Forever21.
It's like a Takashimaya or ION.
Only grandma and sis bought stuffs there. I didn't.

I realized one thing. Shopping in Msia can really help me save money.
Cause when I see price tag, it's like RM$150 for a dress!
Sounds so ex right, then I won't buy. But actually only SG$60 hahas.

It's a campaign for malaysian women!
I'm not malaysian, didn't know what it was about at first.
They give me, then I just take LOL.
A nice campaign to brighten up any women's day!
All girls love receiving flowers ;)

Next, we were supposed to go to One Utama, board our coach and go back to SG.
But there was some traffic jam issues and the coach will only reach at 6pm instead of 4pm.
So... It was...

Shopped around One Utama.
It's a super super huge shopping mall!
Bigger than Vivocity!
All three of us bought stuffs here :)
I bought a dress and a belt ;)

Coach back to Singapore!
We only reached back at around 11pm or 12mn!
Can't really remember hahas.
All I remember was that I fell asleep on the coach, when I woke up, it was all dark.
And we were still far from home hahahahas.
Mega long ride back.

I survived on Wifi while I was in genting!
There was so many interesting things to do there, you won't have time for your phone anyways =P
Anyways, as bloggers, we were searching for wifi wherever we went to hahas!
Need to instagram and tweet! Note that it might be a lil hard to find wifi when in Genting.
But... JUST ENJOY THE TRIP WILL DO! Social media can wait ;)

That's all for my 2D1N Genting trip!
I want to go back to Genting soon! Singapore is too warm! :(
