[Review] Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi-Gloss

Thursday, 23 April 2015

Received three lovely glosses from Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi-Gloss range for this review. Dany Sanz, MAKE UP FOR EVER Founder and Creative Director, was inspired by one of her favorite objects, a plexi glass makeup case. Together, Dany and the MAKE UP FOR EVER lab developed a new technology of pigments amplified with a high vinyl finish that would replicate the case's unique look and feel. [from press release]

[Review] Creer Beaute Eyeliners

Saturday, 20 September 2014

The much raved and most awaited Japanese Anime makeup line, CreerBeaute, famous for its Versailles (based on a manga called The Rose of Versailles) and Sailor Moon series of makeup products are now available at selected Watsons stores in Singapore! Now you no longer have to travel all the way to Japan to get them ;)

Pretty eyeliners! They were so pretty that I almost couldn't bear to use them! :/

♥♥♥

Here are the swatches, prices and reviews!

♥♥♥

(Miracle Romance Sailor Moon Series)
Top to Bottom:
Miracle Romance Star Power Prism Lameliner Red
Miracle Romance Star Power Prism Lameliner Orange Gold
Miracle Romance Star Power Prism Lameliner Green
Miracle Romance Star Power Prism Lameliner Blue
Miracle Romance Star Power Prism Liquidliner Brown
Miracle Romance Star Power Prism Liquidliner Black
Miracle Romance Star Power Prism Pencilliner White

Miracle Romance Star Power Prism Lameliner retails at $24.70 each and is available in Red, Orange Gold, Green and Blue. I don't think I will wear the red, orange and green ones as those aren't really my favorite colors. But... I love the blue one! Also for some strange reason, it was the most pigmented and smooth gliding one in the lot!  Btw, these are twist up liquid liners. I tend to over twist and end up having too much product on the brush! However, this problem can be easily solved by first brushing the product on the back of my hand before dapping and applying them onto my eyelids ;)

Miracle Romance Star Power Prism Liquidliner retails at $24.70 each and is available in Brown and Black. I would say these eyeliners go on really light. Above swatches done in one swipe - the brown looks like a light brown and the black looks like a dark brown. I think it might be cause Japanese prefer brown eyeliners as they give a more natural and not too harsh look! They do look more opaque when two coats are applied though! So I guess you have the option of having a lighter or darker look! The eyeliners are specially designed with a 0.1mm fine tip so you can actually draw a super thin line but they did feather a lil when I tried drawing a mega thin line. Drew a normal thin line on my eyelid and it went on very smoothly without feathering. I like how these eyeliners give a soft and natural look!

Miracle Romance Star Power Prism Pencilliner in White retails at $18.50 each. It has a creamy texture and glides rather on well. It is ideal for lining the waterline to open up your eyes or to be used to create “aegyo-sal”!

♥♥♥

(The Rose of Versailles Series)
Top to Bottom:
La Rose de Versailles Pencil Eyeliner Black
Lady Oscar Liquid Eyeliner Black

Lady Oscar Liquid Eyeliner is available in Black and Royal Brown and retails at $20.50 each. They won champion at the Japan Beauty award @ Cosme for 2 years consecutively, 2010 & 2011! These eyeliners have a 0.1mm fine tip as well and they didn't feather as much as the Sailor Moon ones! Also, they go on much more pigmented! On top of that, they dry really fast!

La Rose de Versailles Pencil Eyeliner is available in Black and Brown and retails at $22.60 each. I love this eyeliner! It's really smudge proof and waterproof. I ran my whole arm under running tap water and some were waterproof but the moment I rubbed my arm, all others melted except for this! This eyeliner was the only one that stayed sort of intact for quite a bit of rubbing though it did gradually fade away. It glides on really smoothly and the color payoff is really good, very pigmented.

♥♥♥

I played a lil did a morning to night makeup with these eyeliners!
So here's a short tutorial ;)

Products used: Miracle Romance Star Power Prism Liquidliner in Brown + Mascara

A clean and simple look paired with a my-lips-but-better or a neutral pink or coral lipstick for the day makeup! As you can see, I managed to draw a very thin line with this eyeliner! This is sort of like a no-makeup makeup look? ;)

Products used: Miracle Romance Star Power Prism Lameliner Blue + Lady Oscar Liquid Eyeliner Black + Miracle Romance Star Power Prism Pencilliner White

To transit to the night makeup look, I applied a couple of things over the day makeup look! As the Lady Oscar eyeliner was much more pigmented, I was able to use it to create a more striking eyeliner. In order to add some fun colors to the look, I added a layer of blue eyeliner on top of the black eyeliner and to make my eyes look brighter, I added a line of white eyeliner at the bottom lash line. Then I paired this look with a red/plum-ish (it was a failed dark red ombre lips, i had wanted the corners to look darker) lip color. If you want to pump up this look further, you can throw on a pair of falsies, and do a smokey eye look before layering the blue eyeliner ;)

♥♥♥

That's all for this post!
Hope you enjoyed reading the reviews and the simple day to night makeup tutorial ;)

[Review] Make Up For Ever Artisan Brushes

Saturday, 23 August 2014

The brushes I am reviewing today are all hot favorites from Make Up For Ever's newest Artisan Brush line! These brushes are exclusively hand-made by highly qualified specialists and submitted to over 50 quality checks before hey are released to be sold internationally. Each brush is a unique creation and by combining significant features (fiber type + diameter + density + shape), it enables a multitude of combinations of tufts which allow specific, multiple and diverse make-up applications.

Tapered, trapeze, square, fan, flared, round, pointy and angled - the 75 brushes come in assorted shapes and sizes designed to allow for optimized control in applying, blending, sculpting, shading, and lining of make-up.

MUFE Artisan Brushes are:
✔︎ Customized creations by Dany - from the shape to position and even the color of brush bristles!
✔︎ 100% engineered fibers for skin comfort
✔︎ Ultra-Resistant & Humidity-Proof
✔︎ Environmentally Friendly with Eco-certified Wood
✔︎ Designed with a Unique bevelled tip that is designed to collect, mix and adjust make-up textures

♥♥♥

106 Medium Foundation Brush SGD65
This is a larger variation of a foundation brush for applying and blending ultrafast for an even result with fuller coverage. It can be used with all types of foundations and features straight fibers.

Unlike most flat foundation brushes in the market, this brush is so soft! Love soft brushes like this as they won't irritate the skin. This is my current go-to brush for liquid foundations :)

Recommended textures: Cream and liquid foundations, loose and compact powders.

♥♥♥

152 Medium Highlighter Brush SGD69
The shape and soft fibers of this supple, rounded brush make it an essential tool for adding delicate highlights to the face and body. It features wavy fibers, and is ideal for applying highlighting powders and creams for generous coverage.

This is definitely my favorite rounded brush now. It's very dense and gives a nice streak-free finish. It actually reminds me of Sigma's F82 Round Kabuki brush! I think both brushes are quite similar but this is soooo much softer and it has a unique end for bevelled brush handle tip. I don't normally use brushes for their intended purposes hence I actually used this as my compact foundation brush too! It helps give my skin a smooth and high coverage.

Recommended textures: Cream, gel, loose and compact powders.

♥♥♥

174 Small Concealer Brush SGD39
This straight, responsive brush applies and blends concealer over specific imperfections for a natural result. It can be used with creams and liquids.

This brush is a lil hard (all concealer brushes are hard) but very smooth. If you feel the individual bristles, you will be able to tell that this brush is made of many soft bristles! So when you use this brush on your face, it will not irritate it at all!

Recommended textures: Cream and liquid.

♥♥♥

274 Double Ended Eyebrow Brush SGD49
This practical, multiuse brush is the perfect tool for quick eyebrow grooming. Use the angled end of the brush to fill in and define brows, and the spiral end to groom brows and separate lashes. It features straight fibers, and can be used to apply eyebrow creams and pressed powders.

This is such a convenient multi-purpose brush! I can use the straight end to fill in my brows and the spiral end to brush and groom my brows! It's said that you can use the spiral end to separate lashes too. I think it's good that it is multi-purposed but if you use it to mascara coated lashes, I would suggest that you wash the brush after each use to prevent bacterial growth!

Recommended textures: Cream and compact powder.

♥♥♥

304 Lip Brush with Cap SGD45
This rounded, dense brush is ideal for quick lip color application and blending. Perfect for touch-ups throughout the day, this brush features straight fibers and comes with a metal cap to ensure practicality and hygiene.

This brush is so travel-friendly. The metal cap can be placed at the back of the brush so it gives you the full-size brush handle length. With the metal cap on, you won't have to worry about other stuffs contaminating the brush too!

Recommended textures: Lipstick and gloss.

♥♥♥

You might be thinking brushes are of no use and it's much more convenient to just use your finger but that's actually not true!

♥♥♥

So... hurry and get your brushes from Make Up For Ever!
Just treat it as an investment for a better makeup application and to save time and money ;)

You can get them from the following stores:
Sephora ION Orchard
Sephora Ngee Ann City
Sephora Marina Bay Sands
Sephora Great World City
Sephora VivoCity
Sephora Plaza Singapura
Sephora Bugis+
MAKE UP FOR EVER Academy & Pro Loft
