IDS Clinic Official Opening!

Friday 28 February 2014

So here’s something that some of you might be waiting for…
A BLOGPOST ABOUT MY NEXT NEW FAVORITE CLINIC!

Anyways I posted a photo of IDS Clinic on instagram and some of you were asking me about the clinic and for my reviews. I was actually there to support Dr SK Tan :) I haven’t got to try all of their products yet but looking forward to many of their products cause they say a couple are first time in Singapore!

Some of you might be wondering. Isn’t Dr SK Tan the senior doctor in DRx whom I mentioned in my DRx luncheon blog post before? Yes you are right. Let’s start with a little history shall we?

DRx Clinic was founded by Dr SK Tan but there was a change of hands and stuff and 3 years later, Dr SK Tan decided to start his own clinic and tadah! Here is IDS Clinic! P.S DRx Clinic got sold to another company again (late last year).

For those who don’t know, Dr SK Tan is the grandfather of aesthetic procedures and he is the one who completely solved my friend’s acne issues! He knows a lot and believes in getting patients to use products to solve their skin problems instead of rushing into using expensive treatments! If your skin can be treated by products, why spend more on expensive treatments right? Nonetheless, some might still need treatments BUT products still comes first. You have to prep your skin for the treatments too!

Here is a clinic tour! IDS is mad pretty! It has a homely feeling and you won’t even feel like you are in a clinic! P.S It’s designed by Mrs Tan herself!

IDS got their consultation rooms (C1 to C3), Doctors room (currently 3 rooms) and treatment rooms (T1 to T6) in a linked unit! And one more thing, IDS will be going paperless so everything will be digitalized! :)

I tried their photo taking machine and died a lil. My skin condition is... -.- Anyways this machine is used purely to take photos of the face so that the doctor can keep track of the patient's condition. It has some analysis functions but IDS clinic don't really rely on that. They still base every thing on the doctor's judgement which is much more accurate :)

Gonna try two products from IDS clinic since I ran out of my current ones.

Now for the comparison between DRx and IDS which some of you requested for.

I haven’t got to try all their products. But I’m already a convert for their sunscreen!
So let's start with the sunscreen ok?

♥♥♥

SUNSCREEN
IDS S2 vs DRx 5B

IDS S2
1. Non-greasy
2. Has oil control properties
3. Has a matte finish
4. Has anti-oxidant
5. Has Vitamin C
6. Settles on the skin very quickly

Now you understand why I love this product so much? For sunscreens, IDS has a definite win! It's the first sunscreen in Singapore that has Vitamin C and Anti-oxidants infused in it. The non-greasy, oil control and matter finish properties are a to die for (for people with oily skin like me)! This product has botanical extract from Swiss alps has inflammatory properties and also keeps the skin oil free. DRx's 5B is their least oily sunscreen and I feel that it is still quite greasy (I'm very picky about greasy products). On the first day I used IDS's sunscreen, I was like "OMG I LOVE IT!". It kept my face matte the whole day! IDS Sunscreen formulation is more liquid-ty compared to DRx's. But it gets absorbed by the skin really quickly, like almost instantly! I'm sorry but I stopped using DRx's sunscreen already :/

Okays I have to clarify that when I was using this sunscreen,
I am still taking my oil control pills from DRx. So I did a little test:

IDS Sunscreen + DRx medicine
Matte face for the whole day till like 10pm!

IDS Sunscreen only
Oily skin by 7pm (9hours)

DRx medicine only
Oily skin by 3pm (5 hours)

This is why I kept raving about IDS's sunscreen!
It's oil control properties even wins medication okay!

Above is the list of ingredients for your reference.

VITAMIN C
IDS C-Plus vs DRx Max C

IDS C+
1. Absorbs slightly faster
2. My skin become slightly smoother
3. Uses the most potent form of Vitamin C
4. Contains a very powerful anti-oxidant
5. Anti-wrinkle and anti-acne properties

Okays this product I personally can't tell a huge difference compared to DRx's. I'm not sure if it's cause I've only used it for a week. But I think my skin became slightly smoother when using IDS C+ as compared to when I was using DRx's Max C. I was told that IDS's C+ used an even higher and most potent form of vitamin c called trisodium ascorbic palmitate phosphate (APPS). It also has Fullerenes which is a super anti-oxidant that is very powerful. On top of that, it has anti-wrinkle and anti-acne properties too!

Above is the list of ingredients for your reference.

    1. Hellos! The non-tinted one that I got is $73. They are currently having free consultations, just need to quote my name. I would recommend that you go for the consultation then you will know which product is more suited for your skin ;)

  2. hmm, do you have an idea of their usual price ranges? the reason why i'm hesitate about stepping into such places is because you always go with the intention of buying 1 item and end up leaving with a huge bag of products.

  7. Hi, just wondering do we have to keep going back to see dr tan every month after the 1st consultation? or we can stop going once the face condition is getting better

    ReplyDelete

    1. Hello, nopes it's not compulsory to go back every month. But since there is free consultations from now till 30th May (if you quote my name), I feel that you can just go back again for a review if you have the time. At least Dr Tan can help you see if your skin problems are really solved and whether the previous regime is still suitable for your skin ;) But it's totally up to you.

    1. Hello Sandy, Oil control toner is $62 while Illuminating complex is $134. If you are thinking of going to IDS clinic, I would suggest that you go now cause they are currently giving free consultations (if you quote my name) and also 10% off their products! :)

  9. Is it possible to buy the products at the front desk without going for consultation? :)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hello! Hmmm I don't think it is possible, unless it is top up of products? But anyways free consultations now if you quote my name and consultations aren't that long too. I feel that consultations are necessary cause the doctor knows better and will be able to prescribe you products which are suited for your skin. They will recommend you the full set of products for your skin, but will not force you to buy all. So no worries! ;)

      Delete
    2. Oh, 'cause DRx allows that. Okay then. Thank you!

      Delete
    3. Ooo hmm from what I know, DRx didn't allow that in the past. Guess they changed their policy.

But anyways, I feel that it would be better to make full use of the free consultation at IDS clinic. Free review after that too (until further notice)! Cause there are different types of products and only the doctor himself will know which is best for your skin :)

  12. Hi! I went to IDS yesterday and one of the products i got was the spot treatment. I was just wondering, is the spot supposed to be like a cream or have a creamy sort of texture? Cos when i push it out of the syringe the product is very hard and i can't break it down (even with water) to apply it on my face. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hello, it's a not really a creamy texture. I would say it's somewhere between a cream and a gel, like concealor's texture. Is that the first pump? If I am not wrong, the first time I pumped the syringe, a hard bit came out. After that it should be smooth already.

      Delete
    2. It was actually the first few pumps. Maybe about 5-6 pumps? But i only pumped out a little bit so maybe that is the case:) Thank you for your fast reply! And sorry to trouble you again but do you know if i need to shake the pore and c+ before using?

      Delete
    3. You're welcome :) Hmmm I always use without shaking them. I think the nurses didn't mention anything about shaking before use. So I guess there's no need to shake before use?

  13. Hi, I am interested in their facial scrub? Have you tried that? How much is that?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hello, nopes I have yet tried that. Got a breakout before I went to IDS clinic. Dr. Tan didn't want to irritate my skin so I am not allowed to use the scrub yet :( Many people were raving about the scrub though! I'm looking forward to trying it too :) It's $62.
